Losing weight is very straight forward, but for many of us, it’s a not an easy task. So, let me make it easier to understand. In order to lose weight you need to burn off more calories than you take in. Simple enough, right? But here’s where most people fall off.
Weight loss isn’t thwarted by the binge meal you eat once a month. Nor is it the ice cream you had last night… unless you’re having it every night.
You see, one small serving of ice cream (one tiny little 1/2 cup of ice cream) eaten each night will add three pounds of fat to your frame in only one month. That quickly adds up to the tune of 36 Pounds EACH YEAR! All that from one tiny 1/2 cup of ice cream. Crazy, huh?
Think peanut butter is much better? It isn’t! One extra serving of peanut butter per day will set you back the same 36 lbs per year.

Yeah, let that one sink in. One. Extra. Serving. of peanut butter. Equals 36 lbs of fat per year.
Ok, ok. Don’t freak out just yet. The same depressing news is also a blessing. Here’s why:
If it such a small amount of calories causes you to gain weight so quickly, then the reverse it also true! If you just cut out a little bit of the extra food, say an extra serving of peanut butter, a little bit of that sweet treat or that alcoholic beverage with dinner, then you can lose 3 lbs per month or 36 lbs per year! Now, that’s pretty awesome, right?
So, let your conscience guide you (or at least the scale) in making better choices and just trimming some calories here and there. When you look at it that way, it’s actually quite easy to shed the weight you’ve been wanting to lose.
