So after my last blog the other night – I continued my efforts to cram all this AFAA related information into my (what feel like pea-sized) brain. Keep in mind I have read this information multiple times but sometimes it just takes the proverbial Light Bulb affect to kick in. I read that the aerobic system utilizes Fats as fuel generating 147 ATP, where carbs yield 38 ATP and Protein yields like 15 ATP). So my new modified plan of action is to incorporate more cardio into my routine but not to push myself to the point I’m about to pass out. Stay within my target heart rate which in theory should help burn the fat, not carbs!I’ve run 3x this week and before its through the plan is to lose at least .5 lbs a week. Slow and steady winds the race, so I’ll continue with sticking to the “clean diet”. My only vice?? Almond Butter! It sounds weird (maybe) but 2 tbsp of Almond butter (creamy) mixed with 2 tbsp of unsweetened applesauce and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon powder, that is my “candy” for the day. I enjoy that so much that I could in all honesty eat it several times and I sometimes do :)Stay Tuned…[contact-form][contact-field label=’Name’ type=’name’ required=’1’/][contact-field label=’Email’ type=’email’ required=’1’/][contact-field label=’Website’ type=’url’/][contact-field label=’Comment’ type=’textarea’ required=’1’/][/contact-form]
