One Simple Test for Long Term Health

Don’t Be Waist-Full

The New York Times recently published a story about a test that researchers from around the world have been using to predict long-term health.

At first, I thought it had to be some type of blood work or advanced hormone testing, but I was way off.

The test is simply your waist measurement.

The Times writer cited multiple studies from some of the top Universities around the world, each one looking at a different disease or health concern.

Some were regarding cancer, others heart disease and they even looked at long term brain diseases like dementia.

Each one linked a high waist measurement (i.e.- belly fat) to increased likelihood of each disease.

Even more interesting, a few of the studies found that even if the subjects were “normal weight”, the risk of disease was still present if they had higher than average belly fat (waist circumference).

I talk to people everyday who want to drop belly fat. They talk about looking better in their bathing suit or fitting into old clothes.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with wanting to look better, but as we can see there are much bigger implications to carrying extra fat around your waist.

The article also suggested the “3 BEST WAYS” to drop belly fat for good.

#1- Improve nutrition
#2- Get more sleep
#3- Increase Exercise

So if you are interested in longevity and improving for your quality of life as you get older, start with this simple test. Grab a tape measure and see where your number is.

And if your waist circumference is a little higher than you would like and you are ready to start eating, sleeping and moving better , just comment below with the word “WAIST” and I’ll get right back to you.
