Training takes LOADS of discipline!

Training takes loads of discipline and I don’t mean the actual working out part. Depending on what your fitness goals are and working with a nutritionist and your personal trainer (some are lucky to have both rolled up in one) one needs to adhere to a strict regimen of both exercise and clean eating. So how does this apply to to MY life you ask? Hmm… So let’s say you workout 5x a week, cardio and some resistance training yet that number on the scale doesn’t seem to budge and more importantly the jeans or clothes still don’t fit as well as you’d like. What are you doing wrong you might ask yourself? As simple as it sounds most people forget that a clean and healthy lifestyle is NOT just limited to exercising but includes EATING a well balanced diet as a norm. If you are prepping for a competition then your diet might include some restrictions that otherwise would be considered part of a clean lifestyle.I am embarking on a journey of obtaining physical nirvana, I have decided that I am going to work harder than I ever have at achieving my goals. That for me includes a VERY (did I stress VERY) strict diet plan that comprises of 6 meals a day and some vitamin supplements not to be missed. Plenty of water, so much that I think I could take a dip in it (exaggerating a tiny bit ;)). What I miss already and it’s been not even 1 FULL day? S A L T!!!!!! Man, what did they do before they sent Columbus to travel to India to pick up some salt and other seasons? Where he ended up we all know and that’s a whole other story! As I am writing this blog, I am eating my 4 oz of grilled chicken marinated in lemon juice and Mrs. Dash seasoning and lots of Habenero pepper powder accompanied by plain brown rice with a few onions and green peppers for color and a hint of flavor. Not exactly what foodies would call “Delicous” (in a Rachel Ray voice) but it will help me get one step closer to physical nirvana and the Me that I was meant to BE!So ask yourself some basic questions before embarking on this journey…1) Why am I doing this? (To be healthy, to get ready for bikini season or will this be a lifestyle change or a healthy mixture of the two?)2) Can I maintain this level of exercise and diet plan? (Will modifications be necessary in order to adhere to it once primary goal has been attained?Whatever your reasons, whatever you decide to do make sure it’s right for you, your lifestyle and it doesn’t ADD to the stress of everyday life but takes away from it.Ti la prossima volta!MightyMaus
